Background:
This was a fun summer internship project I got to do at Mama's Sauce. I was tasked with taking photography of all the product that came hot off the press. Curating through everything that had recently been printed and anything that was in the achieves. I found out some of my favorite pieces were shots where I was able to capture a moment of unison between the print and the background.

I knew I wanted some sort of star background on this photograph but I wanted the effect to look authentic. I ended up taking a black sheet of paper, poking holes through it, and shining whatever flashlights I could find at different distances to get an uneven space look.
This playing card box was one of my favorites to photograph. It had one of the best textures that you could get out of paper. Can you just look at that beauty! Just look at it!
Another rule they had given me was to always use French Paper for the background. I found this material stashed away and it was NOT French Paper. The two just played off of each other well enough for me to look the other way. Lesson learned. Sometimes you gotta BREAK THE RULES!
I loved this shot because it shows why the teeth of the paper make such a difference. Shots like this made me fall in love with paper and why a class full of high school kids looked at me blankly when I talked about paper to them.
These two stop motion animations came out of the blue. It came from a moment where I was finally hitting my stride and setting into a routine. Come in, pick the pieces I want to photograph, set up lighting, photograph, tear down for the next day. I felt like I needed something to break the cycle and the social media feed I was creating. Besides who doesn't love a sick animation?
